As we begin to gear up for the New Year, it is important for us to take the time to reflect on what we have accomplished in 2008. With this in mind, we have compiled “Obsidian’s Year in Review”- a list that we are so proud to share with all of you. It is because of you and your generous support that we have been able to grow and excel as producers of great art.

Entertained 5,954 people

Enabled 550 teens from community centers and shelters to experience our shows free of charge

Enjoyed 79 nights of applause

Employed 52 actors, 11 designers, 7 directors, 6 stage managers, 2 musicians, 1 choreographer

Was the subject of 46 newspaper or online articles

Rated 37 stars out of a possible 44

Hosted 25 post-show talk back sessions

Supported 21 playwrights

Presented readings from 12 new plays

Mentored 8 apprentices

Hired 2 staff members on full-time

Received 3 Dora Mavor Moore nominations (Best Production, Best Director, Best Costume Design, Intimate Apparel)

Won 1 Dora Award {Tamara Marie Kucheran Best Costume Design, Intimate Apparel}
