Jumping into Fall

October 2009
Hello All,

"C" stands for cold which, alas, it is.
"C" also stands for
Canonize This!, which is just around the corner.
Next week in fact.
Oct. 21-23: Wednesday to Friday.
Take your mind off the cold weather by warming up in the Berkeley Street Theatre with some of the most innovative and exciting playwrights Black Canadian theatre has to offer. Listen to excerpts from the works of: Darren Anthony, Sarah Michelle Brown, Dian Marie Bridge, Marcia Johnson, Michael Miller (Wed. 21st), George Boyd, Nicole Brooks, Joan M. Kivanda, Djennie Laguerre, Sharon Lewis (Thurs. 22nd ), d’bi.young anitafrika, Donna Michelle St. Bernard, Motion, ahdri zhina mandiela and Joseph Jomo Pierre (Fri. 23rd).

Tickets are $5.00 or attend all 3 evenings of readings for just $12.00
Visit http://www.obsidiantheatre.com/ for more info.

Also, Yellowman, our first show of the season, is rehearsing just across the street from the office, which is very cool as it allows the cast and crew to drop by to use the computers- plus we get to catch up on all the rehearsal doings. I particularly enjoy it when the office and the rehearsal hall have a point of intersection. It makes this whole producing thing worthwhile.

Yellowman

Written by Dael Orlandersmith
Directed by Weyni Mengehsa
Starring: Dean Marshall and Ordena

Nov.2-14, 2009 at the Berkeley St. Theatre

To purchase tickets visit: otctix.com

Synopsis: Yellowman tells the story of Eugene, a light-skinned black man and his relationship with Alma, a dark-skinned black woman. An intriguingly dramatic look at how we see the world and those around us.
